DESCRIPTION:Canoe the Altmühl: Solnhofen to Dollnstein!\nGet ready for a fantastic day out on the water! Join Global Locals on Saturday\, July 12th for an easygoing canoe trip along the beautiful Altmühl River which lies just south of Nuremberg. This 12 km journey from Solnhofen to Dollnstein offers stunning scenery and about 3.5 hours of relaxed paddling\, perfect for novices and first-timers! We’ll be using 3-person Canadian canoes and a 2-person kayak for our adventure.\n \nThe river is calm and shallow\, making it an ideal spot to learn. We’ll encounter two fun waterslides along the way\, but if you prefer\, you can easily walk around them. Life jackets will be supplied as well as a small dry container for personal belongings. \nTrip Details: \n\nDate: Saturday\, July 12th\nRoute: Solnhofen to Dollnstein (12 km)\nPaddling Time: Approximately 3.5 hours\nArrival in Dollnstein: By 4:30 PM\nCost: €27 for Global Locals members / €32 for non-members\n\nImportant Booking Information: \nPlease note that tickets must be purchased by Friday\, July 4th. The trail is dotted with fascinating geological highlights including the Oswaldhöhle (a walk-through cave)\, the enchanting ruins of Quackenschloss\, and the impressive Riesenburg with its accessible rock bridge. Don’t forget a flashlight to explore the many mysterious caves\, including the stalactite-rich Rosenmüllerhöhle. This scenic loop combines magnificent rock formations\, secret caves\, and idyllic valley views along the Wiesent and Aufseß rivers\, promising a truly memorable experience. \nThis moderately challenging hiking covering 13\,9km near Muggendorf requires a good basic fitness level but no special skills. The well-marked paths lead through diverse forest landscapes\, offering stunning views of the Wiesenttal and involves about 4 hours of walking time.
