DESCRIPTION:Join us for the next English Stammtisch Nuremberg on Thursday\, October 10 at the Wirtshaus am Opernhaus from 7.30pm. If the weather and temperature permit we can enjoy a one more Beer Garden evening before winter sets in. \nThis event is open to everyone who wants to join\, free of charge and no registration is necessary. It normally takes place on the second and final Thursdays of each month. We invite both locals and internationals to join us in fostering a welcoming environment for cultural exchange. While English is our common language\, we have a wide range of nationalities in attendance. Our location changes each time giving attendees opportunities to visit various bars around Nuremberg. If you would like to suggestion a location we’ll be pleased to hear from you. \nPlease note: the next Stammtisch at the end of October would fall on Halloween and as we are celebrating this special event with a large costume party at Society\, Luitpoldstr. 8 we invite you to join us there. Tickets are required for the Halloween Party and are available here: https://globallocals.de/event/halloween/ \nThe first English Stammtisch was held in 2001\, organised at the time by Alex Kenny and promoted through Facebook. When Alex moved from Nuremberg organisation was passed to Natalie Pratt and in turn to Gemma Snowden. At this meeting\, there will be ample opportunity to answer your questions. \nIn light of this development the primary purpose of this meeting is now to inform members about the present situation and importantly in seeking people willing to join the Board of Directors of Global Locals e.V.\, these roles include those of Treasurer\, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary. If anyone is interested in filling any of these roles please send an email to chris@globallocals.de \nBesides this it will also be an ideal opportunity discuss the future organisation of Global Locals e.V. taking in to consideration our experience gained so far\, as well as taking feedback from the membership. \nIt seems now appropriate to postpone changes to the Articles of Association until a new Board of Directors is in place. \n  \nThe agenda is as follows: \n\n\nWelcome and introduction \n\n\nExplanation of how income and membership fees are being used. \n\n\nProposal for changes to the Articles of the Association \n\n\na. Increase the possible number of Board members from 3 to 9 to be made up of 3 core members and 6 advisory members \nb. Regulations on how board members may be elected \nc. Expenditure/organisation of Association funds should be a unanimous decision by all core members of the Board \n\n\nFeedback and proposals from members for the future direction of Global Locals \n\n\nVote (by the Board members) \n\n\nPlease submit any additional points you would like to have added to the agenda at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting to chris@globallocals.de.

DESCRIPTION:To kick off a new series of hikes exploring Nuremberg and the region\, we will begin with the city itself and its remarkable city walls. Throughout its history\, the walls have been developed\, expanded\, relocated\, and also destroyed. At one point\, the city was split into two sections\, each enclosed by its own wall. To delve deeper into this fascinating history\, we will take a stroll around the entire wall and visit segments of the earlier\, inner city wall. The total distance will be under 10 km. However\, its diverse terrain and moderate pace make it enjoyable for hikers of all skill levels. \nWe will meet between 9.15am and 9.30am at Nuremberg Main Station\, those who wish to travel by car can meet us off the train at Neuhaus (Pegnitz) shortly after 10am.
