DESCRIPTION:Canoe the Altmühl: Solnhofen to Dollnstein!\nGet ready for a fantastic day out on the water! Join Global Locals on Saturday\, July 12th for an easygoing canoe trip along the beautiful Altmühl River which lies just south of Nuremberg. This 12 km journey from Solnhofen to Dollnstein offers stunning scenery and about 3.5 hours of relaxed paddling\, perfect for novices and first-timers! We’ll be using 3-person Canadian canoes and a 2-person kayak for our adventure.\n \nThe river is calm and shallow\, making it an ideal spot to learn. We’ll encounter two fun waterslides along the way\, but if you prefer\, you can easily walk around them. Life jackets will be supplied as well as a small dry container for personal belongings. \nTrip Details: \n\nDate: Saturday\, July 12th\nRoute: Solnhofen to Dollnstein (12 km)\nPaddling Time: Approximately 3.5 hours\nArrival in Dollnstein: By 4:30 PM\nCost: €27 for Global Locals members / €32 for non-members\n\nImportant Booking Information: \nPlease note that tickets must be purchased by Friday\, July 4th. There are just 10 places which we can guarantee are available\, so book your place early! \nWhile we are unable to offer refunds\, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person\, aged 18 or over\, if you can no longer attend. If you do transfer your ticket\, please notify us of the change. SUMMARY:Global Locals Cycling August | Rothsee
DESCRIPTION:Rescheduled from last weekend’s cancelled event\, join us for a cycle trip to Rothsee. We will set off from Zweirad Stadler at 10am. The expected outward journey time covering 30km is about 2.5 hours (taking it easy) primarily along the canal\, so no hills to speak of. Arriving at Rothsee around 1pm\, we have plenty of time to enjoy drinks at the water’s edge. Bathing is also possible or even paddle boarding for those with unlimited energy reserves. \n📆 Saturday\, August 24\n🕚 Set off at 10am \n📍 Zweirad Stadler\, Nopitschstraße 82\, 90441 Nürnberg \nThe return journey begins around 4pm along the cycle path to the Rothsee train station just 7km away. For those who wish to cycle back to Nuremberg\, we will return via Sperberslohe and Wendelstein (another 22km). We may call in at the Zollhaus Beer Garden for a last beer before returning home. \nWhat to Bring: \n\nSomething to sit on at the lake\nSwimwear if you fancy a dip\nSome snacks/food (either for yourself or to share)\nWater or preferred drinks; it will be a hot ride\n\nRequirements: \n\nA reasonable level of fitness\nA fully working bike\nSpare tubes compatible with your bicycle/tyres (in case of a puncture)\nA mandatory helmet for safety (we strongly recommend it too!)\n\nThis tour is weather-dependent and will only take place if the weather is suitable for bathing.
