Global Locals Cycling August | Rothsee

Rescheduled from last weekend’s cancelled event, join us for a cycle trip to Rothsee. We will set off from Zweirad Stadler at 10am. The expected outward journey time covering 30km is about 2.5 hours (taking it easy) primarily along the canal, so no hills to speak of. Arriving at Rothsee around 1pm, we have plenty of time to enjoy drinks at the water’s edge. Bathing is also possible or even paddle boarding for those with unlimited energy reserves.

🕚 Set off at 10am
📍 Zweirad Stadler, Nopitschstraße 82, 90441 Nürnberg

The return journey begins around 4pm along the cycle path to the Rothsee train station just 7km away. For those who wish to cycle back to Nuremberg, we will return via Sperberslohe and Wendelstein (another 22km). We may call in at the Zollhaus Beer Garden for a last beer before returning home.

What to Bring:

• Something to sit on at the lake
• Swimwear if you fancy a dip
• Some snacks/food (either for yourself or to share)
• Water or preferred drinks; it will be a hot ride

Requirements:

• A reasonable level of fitness
• A fully working bike
• Spare tubes compatible with your bicycle/tyres (in case of a puncture)
• A mandatory helmet for safety (we strongly recommend it too!)

This tour is weather-dependent and will only take place if the weather is suitable for bathing.
