Supporting Member Regulations
(Fördermitglied)

On the basis of § 7 of the byelaws, Global Locals e.V. adopts the following Supporting Membership Rules.

I) General:

The Supporting Member Regulations shall regulate the supporting membership (Fördermitglied) of the Association in addition to the Statutes.

II) Data Protection

  1. In order to fulfil the statutory tasks of the Association, the following personal data of members shall be stored digitally in the Association in compliance with the provisions of the EU Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act, new version (BDSG):
  • Name
  • Address
  • Nationality
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Telephone number
  • E-mail address
  • Bank details
  • Periods of membership in the association
  1. Insofar as the conditions described in the respective regulations are met, every member of the association has the following rights in particular:
  • the right to information according to Article 15 GDPR,
  • the right to rectification according to Article 16 GDPR,
  • the right to erasure according to Article 17 GDPR,
  • the right to restriction of processing pursuant to Article 18 of the GDPR,
  • the right to data portability pursuant to Article 20 of the GDPR,
  • the right to object under Article 21 of the GDPR
  • the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority pursuant to Article 77 of the GDPR.
  1. The organs of the association, all employees or other persons working for the association are prohibited from processing, disclosing, making accessible to third parties or otherwise using personal data without authorisation for purposes other than those pertaining to the respective fulfilment of tasks. This obligation shall continue to exist even after the aforementioned persons have left the association.
  2. For the purpose of exercising statutory membership rights, the Executive Committee may, upon request and against written assurance that the addresses will not be used for other purposes, grant members access to the membership register upon presentation of a justified interest.
  3. The Association shall publish personal data and photographs of its members in its Association publications and on its homepage and shall transmit data and photographs to print and telemedia as well as electronic media.
  4. By becoming a member and thereby accepting the statutes and the subordinate rules of the association, the members consent to the processing (collection, recording, organisation, arrangement, storage, adaptation, modification, readout, interrogation, restriction, deletion, destruction) of their personal data to the aforementioned extent and scope.
  5. In the absence of express consent/permission, the association is only permitted to use data for other purposes beyond the fulfilment of its statutory tasks and purposes if it is obliged to do so on the basis of a legal obligation, the fulfilment of a contract or in order to safeguard legitimate interests, provided that the interests of the person concerned do not prevail.
  6. A sale of data is not permitted.
  7. Upon termination of membership, personal data shall be deleted as soon as their knowledge is no longer required.

III) Supporting Member Contributions

  1. Global Locals e.V. is a non-profit association and is financed in particular by the contributions of its members.
  2. The supporting members are differentiated as follows:
  • Supporting members
  • Supporting members who are students (proof required)
  • Supporting members who are legal entities.

  1. Global Locals Supporting Memberships automatically renew at the end of the relevant subscription period unless membership is cancelled at least one month before the end of the current subscription period.
  2. Subscription payments are generally made by direct debit.
  3. Payment is due without reminder.
  4. Any cancellation fees incurred through the financial institution in the case of direct debit shall be passed on to the member.
  5. If a member does not pay his or her membership fee, he or she may be expelled from the Association with immediate effect without a reminder.
  6. The Supporting Member also warrants that all information provided to Global Locals e.V. in the course of registration is true, accurate and complete and that it will keep this information up to date. Global Locals e.V. has the right to terminate the membership if there is a breach of contract or Global Locals has reason to believe that there has been a breach of any of the provisions of the constitution or rules. In this case, Global Locals will inform the member concerned accordingly in advance, insofar as this is reasonable.

IV) Additional

Membership does not grant any rights to use Global Locals e.V. logos, domain names and other brand features, either for commercial or non-commercial purposes. Any use of Global Locals brand features requires written permission from the Board of Directors.
