We Need You: Help Us Shape Global Locals!
Global Locals is a non-profit, voluntary association. As such we depend upon people offering their time and energy to help organise and promote events, facilitate technical possibilities and steer our ship through the waters of the German system. Below are a lsit of tasks with which we need people to help us with. If you can help in any of these areas we’d love to hear from you.
Our Philosophy: We aim to spread the load over many shoulders so that no one is ever overloaded. You are only asked to do what you feel capable of—nothing more.
Administrative & Behind-the-Scenes
- Accounting & Tax Support: Assist with our annual tax returns to keep us compliant.
Commitment: ~2 hours per month - Bookkeeping: Maintain our financial records (performed mostly online).
Commitment: ~2 hours per month - Membership Administration: Keep our membership database up to date via our online system.
Commitment: ~1 hour per month - Insurance Coordinator: Notify our provider of events for 3rd-party coverage (German language required).
Commitment: ~2 hours per month - Location Scout: Help us find and secure appropriate venues for our gatherings.
Commitment: ~5 hours per month
Events & Community Outreach
- Social Media Team: Promote our mission across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and MeetUp.
Commitment: ~3 hours per week - Games Night Moderator: Help guests get started and explain rules at our regular gaming events.
Commitment: 3–6 hours per month - Picnic Organizer: Lead the organization of our summer outdoor social events.
Commitment: ~6 hours per month (Seasonal) - Cycle Tour Organiser: Turn your passion for the pedals into a plan. Help us coordinate regional day tours, discover new routes, and grow our cycling community.
Commitment: ~6 hours per month - Hike Organiser: Help Us Explore: Master the trails. Design, plan, and execute day hikes throughout the region. Help our team manage the details behind every great trek and ensure our hikers have a safe, scenic, and seamless experience.
Commitment: ~6 hours per month - General Event Support: Help with planning or “on-the-day” setup and teardown.
Commitment: Flexible (0.5 to 5 hours per month)
Technical
- Website Admin: Assist with maintaining and updating the Global Locals online presence.
Commitment: ~3 hours per month - AI Development: Help us implement AI to improve Global Locals.

Leadership
Board of Directors: Help steer the direction of the association. Must have been a member for at least six months. Two places available.
